A file on your screen. A camera on the other side.
A little light goes a long way.

Local persistence
Your browser controls storage availability.
Web preview sends unencrypted files, one at a time. Any camera that can see the pattern may read it. Native apps support encrypted pairing and teams.
Catch the light.
Point your camera at a sending DataLux screen.
Bring another screen into view.
Steady, Fast, and Fastest are detected automatically. Keep the entire pattern in view. With a laptop webcam, bring the phone closer and start with Steady.
Waiting for a file
The camera starts only when you ask.

Received bytes are checked with SHA-256 before the file enters your local library. Camera images are processed on this device and are never uploaded. Browser and physical-device validation is ongoing.
Your local files.
Buffered in this browser. Ready when you are.
This library belongs to this browser on this device. Private browsing, clearing site data, or storage pressure may remove it. Use “Save” to keep an independent copy. Accounts do not sync file contents.

An independent account layer
Your files aren’t your account.
Signing in adds an account session. Files remain in this device’s local buffers, including after you sign out.
Android Pro is linked to your DataLux account and can be restored on your Android phones. Desktop includes every feature free. Single-file transfers work without signing in; account activation never uploads your files.
Open-source use remains available under AGPL-3.0. Commercial integration licensing is a separate agreement with the project owner. The planned Android Pro upgrade is $10 USD once, initially in the US. Google Play setup, testing and review must finish before sales open; its purchase screen shows the actual checkout amount.
Kept close. Made clear.
How this preview handles your data.
Files and camera
Selected files are copied into IndexedDB as bounded binary chunks. Received files enter the same local library only after the transfer core verifies integrity. Camera frames stay in memory on the device. No upload or cloud file-sync endpoint is provided.
Offline availability
The service worker caches the interface, fonts, and optical runtime after your first successful online load. Wait for “Offline ready” before disconnecting. Storage may be denied, cleared, or evicted; protection requests are controlled by your browser. Export anything important.
Accounts
Optional account registration sends your name, email, and password to the configured DataLux account server over HTTPS in production. Passwords are hashed on the server; sessions use an HttpOnly cookie. Account responses are never stored by the offline cache. Signing out ends your session but keeps local files.
Preview boundaries
The browser optical mode is unencrypted. Use the native app for encryption and offline teams. Physical screen-to-camera reliability depends on lighting, frame timing, camera focus, and device performance. This web preview has no checkout. Email verification and password recovery depend on email delivery being configured on the account server. A verified Android Pro purchase can be restored on your Android phones. Desktop includes all features free; legacy activation exports are not required for desktop use.
